BJP releases Ist List of Rajasthan Poll candidates
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) late Sunday evening released first list of 95 candidates for the Rajasthan assembly polls.
In its first list of candidates for the Rajasthan polls, the BJP has dropped the names of 12 sitting legislators and repeated 24 members. The rest of the candidates are new faces.
Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje would be contesting from her old constituency Jhalrapatan from which she won in the last elections.
"The candidates include 15 women, 10 candidates from Scheduled Tribes and 19 from the Scheduled Castes,"said party general secretary Ananth Kumar.
The meeting was attended by senior leader L K Advani, Vasundhara Raje, BJP general secretary Ananth Kumar ,state incharge Gopinath Munde and Sushma Swaraj among other members of the committee.
The CEC would again meet on November 13 to finalise the candidate for the remaining 105 seats and also on alliance adjustment with the INLD and JD(U) in the state.
