Mohd. Azharuddin joins Congress Party
Mohd. Azharuddin, arguably one of the most beautiful batsman India has ever produced has joined politics and has started with Congress.. as more and more parties woo cricket and movie stars.
He says that he was moved by the plight of the poor which made him join the politics. It happened when he met M. Veerappa Moily and expressed his interest to join politics. He formally joined on Feb. 19.
Azhar says his inspiration is Rajiv Gandhi who led the country and inspired the youth well. He also is humble and appreciates others in the area like Chiranjeev and the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) party (who have done good work in the old city).
Would this be a better innings for him than cricket was? Hopefully he will be able to regain some of his lost pride in the way he was treated in the end of his cricketing life.
