Special Consideration to Minorities in Appointment: Salman Khurshid
PM's 15 point programme and Sachar Committee Recommendation implemented.
Minority Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid has indicated that under the special consideration will be given to minorities for appointment in police, armed forces and public sector units. This is based on the prime minister's 15 point programme. Based on this, the department of personnel and training (DOPT) had issued an office memorandum on Jan 8, 2007.
The PMs 15 point programme and recommendations of the Sachar Committee have led to introduction of three scholarship schemes and a coaching and allied scheme only for students from the minority communities.
